About Me

I have been surrounded by friends and family with cancer since I was young. I would go to appointments with a friend in elementary school who was receiving chemotherapy. Two of my grandparents had leukemia. I was a candy striper on the oncology floor when I was in middle school. When I started my Ob/Gyn residency, I was drawn to the amazing women on the gynecologic oncology service.  I was not only interested in oncology, but also in making a positive impact in the lives of patients and their families.

I treat every woman as I want my family members to be treated.  Each woman is a unique individual, a mother, sister, daughter or friend to so many. I am always honored to be entrusted with the care of each woman; every patient is important to me.

I hope my patients say that I always have their best interest at heart, that I listen carefully to them, understand and respect their desires, and provide them with excellent care.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. My husband and I love to be outdoors. We enjoy gardening, riding our bicycles, and taking walks through nature.

Dr. Duffy is a warm, caring doctor. She listens to questions and concerns and answers in simple language that is easy to understand. She is encouraging and, if all goes well, I will "graduate" in six months.

Dr Duffy and her team are wonderful. I just cannot wait to get this cancer out of my body. I like the idea of the Chemo class but I don't want it to delay my treatment. I have known about this cancer for almost a month. I'm concerned that this sneaky cancer bastard wants to wander around my body … it has got to be killed. When I arrived at MDA I thought that surgery was going to be possible immediately but I was wrong. The thought that this cancer is like grains of sand as it was described to me has been devastating. How are we going to find every grain to kill it? I wasn't scared until I heard about the grains of sand. I must get well because my husband needs me. So let's get started. I will do anything asked of me because I am needed by him. He is the love of my life. I cannot leave him all alone.

Dr. Duffy spent as much time as I needed to explain the procedure. She was thorough, clear, and easy to understand. She's also warm and sincere, excellent provider, and I trust no one other than Dr. Duffy with my care during this challenging moment. Thank you, Dr. Duffy. Thank you.
