About Me
Dr. Rajkishen Narayanan is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic spine surgeon. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biology from New York University, followed by his medical degree from NYU School of Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and subsequently pursued a clinical and research spine fellowship at the renowned Rothman Orthopaedic Institute at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
Dr. Narayanan specializes in the treatment of complex spinal conditions affecting the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. His expertise includes degenerative spine disorders, deformity, trauma, tumors, and revision surgery. He also offers minimally invasive and motion-preserving treatment options. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and presentations at national and international meetings, advancing knowledge in areas such as surgical outcomes, biomechanics, infection, and novel technologies in spine care. His research has been recognized with several awards, including the Cervical Spine Research Society Young Investigator Grant and multiple podium presentation honors.
In addition to his clinical and academic contributions, Dr. Narayanan serves as a reviewer for leading journals including Spine and the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is an active member of professional societies such as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, and the Lumbar Spine Research Society. Dedicated to mentorship, he has taught and supervised residents and fellows throughout his training and fellowship.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Narayanan enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, and playing tennis. He values a compassionate, patient-centered approach and is committed to improving outcomes through innovative surgical techniques and translational research.
