Gen Grana MD

Dr. Grana is Director of MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. She is an expert in the field of genetics and breast cancer. She is also Professor of Medicine at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Coriell Institute for Medical Research in Camden, New Jersey.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Grana attended medical school at Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago before completing her residency in internal medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia. Dr. Grana completed her fellowship in hematology and oncology at the Fox Chase Cancer Center and Temple University in Philadelphia, where she also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in preventive oncology.

At Cooper University Health Care, she has held multiple administrative roles including Division Head of Hematology and Medical Oncology and, currently, Director of MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. Dr. Grana serves as a member of the Cooper University Health Care Board of Trustees, and The Cooper Foundation Board of Trustees – the fundraising arm of the organization. She is also a member of the Cooper University Physicians Executive Committee. Dr. Grana has been actively involved in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows and has been actively involved in multiple community outreach initiatives.

Dr. Grana has received numerous awards, including the Johnson & Johnson Community Health Crystal Award in 1999, the American Cancer Society Silver Chalice Award in 1999, and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure "Light of Life" award in 2009.
