Dr. Chansky, is Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Cooper University Health Care and Professor of Emergency Medicine at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) in Camden. For almost 40 years, under his direct leadership and through his strong commitment to his patients, undergraduate and graduate education and mentorship, Dr. Chansky has transformed Cooper’s Department of Emergency Medicine into one of the highest quality and busiest EDs in the region, treating more than 80,000 adults and children a year.

Dr. Chansky received his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he moved on to serve as Chief Resident prior to coming to Cooper full time. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine. Dr. Chansky has received many teaching awards for his commitment to academics from the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) and CMSRU, where he has taught for almost four decades. He was inducted into the Masters Education Guild and appointed the inaugural Chair of Emergency Medicine at RWJ/UMDNJ – the first Camden Campus faculty member to be so honored. Most recently he received the Sol Sherry Teaching Award, was inducted into the Arnold Gold Humanism Society, and was founding AOA honor society lead councilor at CMSRU. This year was awarded the Outstanding Senior Physician Leadership Award by the Medical Staff of Cooper University Health Care.
