Dr. Schwarting is the Chairman of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Cooper University Health Care, and Professor of Pathology at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. He received his MD from Kiel University, Germany, in 1981. He subsequently spent three years at Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center developing tumor markers, some of which have U.S. patents and are distributed worldwide. Dr. Schwarting finished his residency in pathology in Berlin, Germany, and continued as an attending pathologist at Thomas Jefferson University until 2006. He is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology. He serves also as the President of the South Jersey Pathology Society.
