Interventional radiologists use advanced imaging (ultrasounds, X-rays, CAT scans, MRI scans, and other innovative methods) to see inside the body and treat complex conditions – including cardiovascular disease and cancer – less invasively and with unprecedented precision.
Interventional radiology can be used to treat conditions in virtually all of the body’s organ systems, including:
- Digestive organs – stomach, intestines, and liver.
- Nerve tissues – spinal cord and brain.
- Chest cavity – lungs and respiratory system.
- Heart and vascular system – arteries, veins, and blood vessels.
- Musculoskeletal system – spine, bones, and joints.
- Genital and urinary organs – testes, uterus, and kidneys.
- Other tissues and organs.
Our interventional radiologists work both independently and in collaboration with other Cooper health care professionals and medical and surgical specialists. From initial consultation to follow-up care, Cooper Interventional Radiology is an integral part of your health care team.
Cooper is leading the way in offering some of today’s most advanced interventional radiology treatments, including prostate artery embolization, varicocele embolization, genicular artery embolization (GAE) for knee pain, and hemorrhoidal artery embolization for symptomatic hemorrhoids. These innovative, minimally invasive procedures give patients access to effective treatment options that can reduce pain, improve comfort, and help them return more quickly to their daily lives.
