Ophthalmology

An ophthalmologist is a medical doctor who specializes in eye and vision care. Ophthalmologists are trained to provide the full spectrum of eye care, from prescribing glasses and contact lenses to complex and delicate eye surgery.

Ophthalmology services at Cooper are provided by affiliated ophthalmologists from ReFocus Eye Health and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. These ophthalmologists provide examination and total care of the eyes, including medical and surgical treatment of diseases of the eye.

Our affiliated ophthalmologists provide diagnostic services to test for visual abnormalities and to evaluate the condition of children who are born with or acquire eye problems. They provide a wide range of therapies to help children whose eye problems are the result of illness or accident.
