Breast Cancer Symptoms

The symptoms of breast cancer will vary depending on the type of cancer, its stage, and whether it has spread to other parts of the body.

Breast Cancer Treatment

There are several different kinds of treatments for breast cancer that can be used alone or in combination with other treatment approaches.

Breast-Conserving Surgery (Lumpectomy and Partial Mastectomy)

Breast-conserving surgery removes the cancer and surrounding tissue.

Breast Reconstruction Surgery with Implants

Breast reconstruction with either silicone or saline implants can restore the shape and volume of one or both breasts after a mastectomy, or breast removal.

Breast Reconstruction Surgery

Breast reconstruction recreates all or part of a breast that surgeons have removed to treat breast cancer or reduce the risk of breast cancer.

Breast Reconstruction With Flaps

Breast reconstruction with flap tissue, meaning tissue taken from your own body, helps to restore the shape and volume of one or both breasts after a mastectomy, or breast removal.

Bronchoscopic Lung Volume Reduction

In June 2019, Cooper University Health Care became the first hospital in New Jersey to offer bronchoscopic lung volume reduction for severe emphysema and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).

Bursectomy

Bursectomy is a surgical procedure to remove a small, fluid-filled sac (bursa) within a joint when it becomes inflamed (bursitis).

Bursitis

Bursitis is a condition in which there is inflammation of a bursa. A bursa is a jelly-like sac that serves as a cushion to reduce friction between bones and soft tissues of the body. Bursae (plural of bursa) are located throughout the body near joints such as the hips, knees, shoulders, elbows and heels.

Cancer Immunotherapy

Immunotherapy (biologic therapy) uses your body’s immune system, the body’s main defense against infection and disease, to fight cancer.

Cancer Rehabilitation

Cancer and its treatment may leave you with debilitating side effects, compromising your function and quality of life.
