About Me

Dr. Ka Yi Li (Kiki) was born in Hong Kong. At the age of 12, her family immigrated to Philadelphia. Growing up in a working-class environment, Kiki witnessed firsthand her non-English speaking parents face significant barriers to access health care services. She was inspired to pursue medicine and made it her resolute mission to serve the most vulnerable communities in the United States and abroad. She attended Temple University where she obtained a major in Biology and a minor in Spanish.

For medical school, she attended Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in Camden, New Jersey. Next, she completed her residency training in Family Medicine at Boston Medical Center, where she cofounded a residency curriculum in “Immigrant and Refugee Health.” Following residency, she completed a year of global health fellowship with HEAL initiative in Salinas, California, where she practiced full-spectrum family medicine, including primary care, obstetrics and inpatient medicine, while pursuing extensive training from University of California San Francisco in the health evaluations of asylum seekers. Now, she returned to Cooper as a full-time hospitalist and is working to incorporate her passions in immigrant and refugee health in medical education.
