Visitors are very important to the healing process of our patients. When it is safe, we want visitors to be there for our patients.

Visitor Passes

The visitor pass system at Cooper University Hospital in Camden is designed to enhance safety, make it easier to identify visitors, and ensure visitors are in the right location. The new passes are stickers that include a photo of the visitor, their full name, and the exact location of their visit. The new system requires visitors to show a government-issued photo ID and have their photo taken to obtain a pass.

Masking Guidance

  • Cooper University Hospital: Team members must wear a mask when entering the room of patients who are immunocompromised or have certain medical conditions. Wearing a mask is optional for visitors. 
  • Cooper Ambulatory Locations: Team members must wear a mask when entering the room of patients who are immunocompromised or have certain medical conditions. Wearing a mask is optional for visitors.

*Limited exceptions may be made for patients who are under 18, have special needs, are in end-of-life situations, or are critically ill or injured. Please speak with your care team or contact Patient Relations at 856.342.2432.

Visitation Guidelines

Visitation is an important part of our patients’ comfort and well-being. To ensure our patients receive the rest and care needed for recovery, we are asking visitors to observe the following visiting guidelines.

  • Visiting hours are limited.
  • All visitors must be 15 years or older. Rare exceptions may be made. Please check with your care team.
  • All visitors to Cooper University Hospital must wear a mask when in a patient room. All patients and visitors must wear masks at all Cooper outpatient offices and MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper locations.
  • All visitors must wash their hands or use hand sanitizer before visiting a patient.
  • Visitors must remain in the patient’s room throughout their visit, except when asked by a Cooper team member to move to another location due to a procedure or other reason.
  • Flower are permitted in all patient areas except for our critical care units and Pavilion 5.

General Guidelines

  • Visitors to the hospital must obtain a visitor pass from the information desk in the main lobby. A photo ID is required, and all visitors will have their photos taken to be displayed on the pass.
  • Visitors are expected to respect the established visiting guidelines of each clinical area.
  • Cooper is a smoke-free campus. We ask that all visitors refrain from smoking while visiting any of our campus locations.
  • We request that visitors be sensitive to the needs of other patients and families by speaking softly, showing consideration to all, and respecting individuals around them.
