About Me

Dr. Roy is a Professor of Medicine at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. In addition to being the Outpatient Primary Care Teaching Faculty of the Internal Medicine Residency Program and the Director of the Residency Research Program, he is also the Medical School Internal Medicine – Primary Care Co-Course Director. He did his Internal Medicine residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center – Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York.

Dr. Roy has always had a strong interest in academia since his Postgraduate Doctorate of Medicine degree in India in 1993. He enjoys teaching medical students and residents. He has been awarded the Vijay Rajput MD Award for Excellence in Teaching Award, Research Mentor of the Year Award, and Best Teaching Attending of the Year Award. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. His main specialty interests are primary care, preventive medicine, medical research and medical education. He also contributes to the various aspects of medical humanities through his artwork. He is currently involved in research and has published and presented numerous scientific research articles at the local, regional, national and international conferences.

Dr. Roy has been named a "Top Doc" for several years by Castle Connolly Group and regional publications including Inside Jersey Magazine, South Jersey Magazine, etc. ​

I go to Dr. Roy and I love him actually. And he is very attentive and he explains things well. In fact, I have an aneurysm in my head and he drew the whole thing out on a piece of paper to make me understand it, show me how small the aneurysm was, where it was located and that he would watch it. And we did. And I really love him. Very good doctor. Thank you.

Dr. Roy is an excellent physician and even though I hate the distance to get there, I wouldn't change for anything. The young doctor that shadowed him was wonderful also. All the staff and receptionist are exceptional in their treatment of old patients.

Dr. Roy is a very knowledgeable, thorough, comprehensive, and caring doctor. He is empathetic and will answer all of my questions. He is one of the best physcian that I have ever seen or dealt with in my life and medical career.

Dr Roy goes above and beyond to take care of me. He genuinely cares about me, is always so kind, answers all of my questions, and has helped me through all of my health issues. He simply is the best. I am blessed to have him as my doctor. I sincerely hope Cooper recognizes him for his excellence.

Dr. Roy is an exceptional physician who is extremely intelligent. He can explain health issues clearly and concisely. Also, Dr. Goldstein, Cooper resident, is going to be a great physician based on interacting with her...good listener, empathetic and bright!
