About Me
Elyce H. Cardonick, MD, FACOG, is a high-risk obstetrician at Cooper University Health Care and professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. She specializes in the care of women who during their pregnancy receive a diagnosis of cancer. Dr. Cardonick works closely with each patient’s oncologist and obstetrician to formulate a plan that is in the best interests of both mother and child. After the pregnancy, both mother and child are followed closely to document long-term safety outcomes.
Dr.Cardonick has presented both nationally and internationally. She was an invited participant at Georgetown University to discuss the inclusion of women in medical research. She presented on this topic and chemotherapy exposure during pregnancy at the National Institute of Health. She presented at the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine and both the American College in the US and Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynecology in London, UK. As the sole attendee from outside of Europe, Dr. Cardonick was invited to speak at the international collaborative meeting of International Network on Cancer, Infertility and Pregnancy (INCIP).
She has been invited several times to lecture on cancer in pregnancy at the postgraduate course of the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine. Dr. Cardonick is also a medical advisor for the Pregnant with Cancer support network based in Buffalo, NY.
Dr. Cardonick has received several awards including: Top Docs for Women and Top Docs in local publications, Forty under Forty by the Philadelphia Business Journal, the Medical School Alumni Achievement Award from the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Drexel, and the Lower Moreland High School Hall of Fame.
