Robert W. DesPain, MD, is an Army trauma surgeon with the AMEDD Military-Civilian Trauma Team Training program (AMCT3) assigned to the Division of Trauma in the Section of Military, Diplomatic, and Field Surgical Affairs. He completed his general surgery residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He then did a trauma and acute care surgery fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center, the Department of Defense's only Level 1 trauma center. He is double board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care.
