About Me
Dr. Gilrain is the Chief Psychologist and Director of Behavioral Medicine at Cooper University Health Care in Camden, New Jersey. She received her B.A. and M.A. in Psychology from Hunter College in Manhattan and completed her PhD at Drexel within Clinical Psychology and a focus in Clinical Health Psychology. Dr. Gilrain has worked in Health Psychology for the past 17 years and completed her internship and residency at Pennsylvania Hospital specializing in psycho-oncology and consultation-liaison psychology. Her interests lie in chronic medical issues, end of life concerns, death and dying, and trauma. She has been with Cooper since 2010 and developed and implemented the Consultation-Liaison Service within the Hospital under the Division of Hospital Medicine and has spent her recent years expanding the behavioral medicine team and psychology training program.
She is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Medicine of the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. She has contributed academically through publications and through numerous presentations at local and national conferences in the areas of program development, education and training in addition to well-being,
Dr. Gilrain has participated in numerous committees within the Cooper Health System and has had an instrumental role within Cooper as a core member of our Compassion and Resiliency Experience (C.A.R.E.) team. She provides support within the health system developing and delivering Resiliency groups and RISE groups to teams as well as collaborating with Cooper’s Well-Being efforts. She was selected to complete a Leadership Institute for Women in Psychology sponsored by the APA in 2019 and was provided the Outstanding Leader award in March 2022 by the Cooper Medical Executive Committee.
