Ms. Farnum joined Cooper University Health Care 2024. She is the lead agent of change to improve operating room (OR) processes and OR utilization while simultaneously enhancing the patients’ overall ambulatory experiences at the Voorhees and Moorestown Surgical Centers.
Ms. Farnum has more than 26 years of progressive leadership experience in specialties including medical/surgical, hospice, emergency, and perioperative services. She focuses intensely on building positive team relationships with technicians, nurses, physicians, and administrators to drive high quality, safe, efficient, and patient-focused care. Two aspects of this are empowering team members to share their ideas for the betterment of the team and giving them the confidence and support needed to ‘Stop the Line’ in situations that could affect patient safety. She is process driven, providing organization and clarity during times of change and growth.
Ms. Farnum has proven strengths in regulatory readiness and operational strategy. She was an integral part of the team who worked to ensure both Department of Health and Joint Commission surveys were successful to open the Moorestown Surgical Center. In previous roles, she was also involved in construction and renovation projects for standardization and optimization to increase patient safety and reduce surgical errors while encouraging staff engagement and collaboration.
Ms. Farnum is a member of the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses, the American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nurses, and the Organization of Nurse Leaders of New Jersey. She earned her Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in leadership in health care systems from Grand Canyon University; Associate of Science from Camden County College; and Diploma in Nursing from Helene Fuld School of Nursing. Ms. Farnum is certified as a post anesthesia nurse.
