The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at The Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper provides specialized care for children facing life-threatening illnesses, serious injuries, or are recovering after major surgery. Our highly skilled team of pediatric critical care specialists are all trained to deliver the highest level of care for critically ill children who require continuous monitoring.
Children may be admitted to the PICU for:
- Recovery after complex surgery
- Severe asthma or respiratory failure
- Shock of critical infections
- Cancer-related complications
- Traumatic injuries
